Just like you wouldn’t put all your files into one big folder, it’s a good idea to split your events across multiple calendars – for example: Private, Work, Family, Sports. Here is why it helps and how to do it.

Why use multiple calendars?
Using multiple calendars has real advantages – and no real downsides:
Color coding
Each calendar gets its own color. All events in that calendar automatically use that color – no need to color each event individually. You can change a calendar’s color at any time in the Calendar List.
Filtering with profiles
You can show only certain calendars in any view or widget. For example, show only your work calendar during the week, or only family events on weekends.
Hide in month view
You can turn off the display of selected calendars in the month view to keep it clean. This is done in the Calendar List.
Sharing
You can share a single calendar with friends, family or coworkers – without giving them access to your other calendars.
How to create a new calendar
For more details on the available calendar types, see the Calendar List help page.
How to move an event to a different calendar
Every event belongs to exactly one calendar. You can change this at any time.
While creating or editing an event
Tap the calendar name at the top of the event editor to switch to a different calendar.
In the event details
The calendar an event belongs to is always shown in the event detail view.
Set a default calendar for new events
In the Calendar List, long-press a calendar and tap Set as default. New events will then be automatically added to that calendar.
