To open the details for an event, simply tap on it.
In day, week and month view a dialog will show with the day's events as list and the touched event opened.
In agenda view the event will expand to details.
You can tap the title of the event to collapse it again.
To copy any (title, location or description) text, long press on it like in most other android apps.
You can configure details about how events are shown in event view settings and calendar view settings.
